Undeciphered Scripts

Justin was granted a summer residency at 263 Gallery in Cambridge, MA in 2012. during this time he explored deciphering and reading the meaning on written language and the way 20th century graffiti is often not placed within it’s long history of visual meaning through writing. The artist selected 4 short pieces of undeciphered historic scripts and then rendered them through the lens of various graffiti styles. The exhibition included a large wall painting and three panel paintings.
